surfs up

i sat down to do this but found myself doing something else.
i've been in the city but am now watching a fire burn in the country.
so many new people.
every time you read it or say it, it makes another copy in your brain.
and everyone you meet--at work or in the street.

i met 20 people twice a day friday saturday sunday
riding bikes, telling stories, making jokes.

last minute stayed with laura in david's bed--
he's in india--
last minute went home with scott from work.
he lives in a borrowed condo in the south loop
the view from the balcony is here.

so many bikes, so many miles.
so many blank stares, so many smiles.

what would i become if i stopped flying around:
something more or something less?

  1. couple things: Never stop using the joke from West Side Story when approaching walking/biking tours come up. Still one of the best jokes that almost no one ever gets that I've heard. Also, the tidbit about U of C being one of the top ten schools that looks like Hogwarts - the people seem to like that. Not me, because I've yet to read one of those books. A goal for this year.

Something more, something less - not sure if it matters as much as something happy.
